Syed Nuruddin Ahmed

Syed Nuruddin Ahmed, is the Chairman of Thriving Skills Limited and Managing Director of Maxwell Stamp Ltd. which is the subsidiary of Maxwell Stamp Plc, UK, and has been managing projects since 2002. He obtained his Masters degree in Management and Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from University of Dhaka.

Mr. Ahmed, brings both experience and a personal passion to his work in development sector. In addition to 28 years of experience as a Development Professional working globally he has worked for several consultancies and served on the boards of Maxwell Stamp Ltd. He is also the Chairperson of the SNAD Foundation a non-profit organization in Bangladesh. Over his 28 years of long career, he worked/ directed number of development projects in Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Kyrgyz Republic, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Mongolia, Morocco, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Viet Nam under various development partners i.e. ADB, UKAID, World Bank, IFC, IDB, UNICEF, UNESCO, UNDP, WFP, EC, SDF, UKTI, ILO, DFAT and JICA.

His career assignments have included roles as Managing Director, Research Director, Project Director, Practice Leader, Management Coordinator, Coordination Consultant to name a few. He spent most of his corporate career with Maxwell Stamp Ltd. and worked/working in more than 80 programs/projects/studies/surveys around the world. His consulting career includes work with development sector including Education and Skills Development, Livelihood Promotion, Financial Management, Tax Policy Analysis and Revenue Forecasting and Tax and Customs Administration, Public Administration and Governance, Capacity Building, Management Reform and Human Resources Management, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Trade, Market, and Export Development, Research and Survey Management, Large-scale fund management and contracting of consultancy services, Health policy, planning, strategy and reform to name a few.
