Course Overview
There exist perfect competition in the job market of our beloved Bangladesh where there are presently at about 28 lakh educated young are unemployed of whom many of them are quite smart even; in addition to that, there is a large number of under-employed persons who are waiting for better career opportunities. Sufficient new job openings are not being created due to very obvious reasons in comparison to the outcome of fresh graduates. Employers are demanding peoples with experiences, but until the young people are employed wherefrom they will be benefited from previous experiences! In our academic curriculum, there is little or almost no room for gathering practical experiences; hardly there are few weeks reservation for the internship, in a few cases which is very limited. Consequently, fresh graduates get a little chance to acquire job knowledge, of knowing the work environment, communicate with others effectively. Practical training for facing job interviews are almost absent in our academic course curriculum. Considering all these issues and particularly accustom our young generation to face job interview sessions, build their future careers more bright we have chalked out the Interview skills course to help them with guidance
(i) To get prepared himself/herself before the job interview
(ii) DOs and DON’Ts in the interview session, and finally
(iii) Self-assessment (just after the interview to take precautionary measures for more perfection in the next job interview if required).
Why This Course?
At the beginning of the session, we have explained the reason for attending the course with a focus on how to write a winning CV or resume to become ‘one of many’ primarily in the Job interview and the probability of getting at least a job interview call to prove finally his/her worthiness in the interview session with illustration particularly for Bangladesh non-government sector.
CV is the first and foremost vital document that introduces a job seeker to the potential employer. We have given the example of a few standard Resume/CV format at first hand and cited linked websites wherein you may have free access to look for hundreds of samples and have every liberty to choose the best one that matches your skill and ability. General rules of writing a standard CV, its size, contents, styles, precaution for typos, and other necessary tips have also been provided there.
Details for taking preparation for job interview e.g., knowing deeply the Job Description (JD)/listing of the job and research of the organization has a great impact on the job seeker. His/her grooming, attitude, communication skill, exposure of body language, keeping eye contact, maintaining attention, enthusiasm, openness, interpersonal skills, technical and analytical skill, behavior, dress, etc. have enormous importance to get hired a dream job. Thus we have not missed mentioning ‘DOs and DON’Ts’ in the job interview session for the betterment of the job seeker/career hunter with detailed guidelines.
Finally, we do not forget to provide a sample of a self-assessment Questionnaire to judge his/her performance in the immediate job interview for future success if required.
A set of model questions with answers has been annexed for review of the course.
